iERA CEO Hamza Tzortzis was invited to deliver ‘The Mirage of Atheism’, an AlKauthar Institute course, based on iERA’s educational content in Malaysia. As part of our global strategy, iERA decided to expand the trip to include outreach activities, meetings and events. These took a couple of weeks to organise on the ground by iERA’s Outreach Specialist for the Far East, Fadhli Burhan.
Why Worship?
On Friday 23 February, Hamza Tzortzis, iERA’s CEO, delivered a lecture entitled “Why Worship?” at Masjid Al-Iman in Kemensah Heights. The talk highlighted the fact that all human beings are created to worship Allah alone and everything in life is a blessing. However, some people have misdirected their worship to something other than Almighty God the Creator. It is our duty to convey the call by awakening the truth that already exists within people’s innate nature (fitrah). Our job as Muslims is to direct them back to Allah through the conveying the call and reconnecting humanity back to Almighty God.
The Mirage of Atheism Course
On Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th February, Hamza Tzortzis delivered the sold-out ‘The Mirage of Atheism’ AlKauthar Institute course. The curse was held at KDU University in Kuala Lumpur with approximately 150 people taking part. The attendees where from a range of backgrounds, including actors, entrepreneurs, students, stay at home mothers, teachers and scholars. One attendee actually travelled to Malaysia all the way from Canada. When he heard about the course he said he was compelled to attend!
The course was a huge success. The content covered many topics including why Allah is worthy of our worship, the argument from dependency, the timeless Quran. It also examined why science does not lead to atheism. One of the attendees, a famous Malaysian actor, Erwin, said that he enjoyed the course and feels much more confident.
Community Outreach
During the same weekend, the iERA team headed by Salahuddin Patel, iERA’s Head of Global Outreach, travelled to Pasar Seni LRT (Central Market LRT) to feed the homeless. After that, the team went to Bukit Bintang to engage in community outreach. The response was extremely positive. The team met Teresa. She is from a traditional Chinese family and believes in Taoism and Confucianism. She did not know much about Islam but what she heard from the iERA has a positive impact.
Jesus Exhibition
On Monday 26th February, the team launched iERA’s Jesus Exhibition at the Kelab Golf Negara Subang. The exhibition was well received by a range of people, from entrepreneurs to schools children. Yo, a businessman and truth seeker was one to explore the exhibition. He was interested in Islam and Christianity. We discussed the concept of God and Jesus in Islam and issues related to community cohesion and tolerance. He was very happy and took the literature to continue his spiritual and intellectual journey.
Meeting The Grand Mufti
On Tuesday 27 February, the iERA team led by iERA’s CEO, had a meeting with the Grand Mufti of Malaysia, Datuk Shaykh Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri. It was a very fruitful and productive meeting. We discussed the role of compassion and reason in conveying the call. Talked about iERA’s GORAP methodology and our work with new Muslims. We also shared our vision for the Far East. He was impressed with our work and he expressed that may God bless iERA’s work all around the world.
Qur’an Hour
Prior to the meeting with the Mufti, Hamza Tzortzis and the team were invited as honorary guests as part of a Malaysian National Initiative to reconnect the world back to the Quran. The ceremony was attended by the biggest media companies across Malaysia and iERA CEO Hamza Andreas Tzortzis was invited on stage to launch the Global Quran Initiative; Quran Hour. The event was broadcast live on Sinar TV, a National Malaysian TV Channel.
iERA will continue working on the ground in Malaysia and across the Far East to continue the Prophetic Mission – reconnecting humanity back to God.
