In October 2018, iERA were invited to deliver training at a three-day pan-European Dawah Conference hosted by Miséricorde pour l’Humanité (Mercy For Mankind) in Paris. Their delegates travelled from across France, Hungary, Italy, Norway, Romania, Sweden, UK and the USA to attend sessions delivered by iERA CEO Hamza Tzortzis, Mercy For Mankind President Sheikh Amr Elsamny and iERA Outreach Specialist Murtaza Chaudhary.
Mercy for Mankind is a US-based dawah organisation with ‘Chapters’ like the one in France in 20 countries around the world. Their President, Sheikh Amr Elsamny is an accomplished motivational speaker, trainer and spiritual leader. The setup of the organisation is very similar to iERA in that they also focus on developing and hiring outreach specialists to carry the message of Islam and take care of new Muslims after they embrace Islam. In addition, they are working to help preserve the Islamic identity of the Muslim Youth in the West. This conference solidified our ongoing partnership to continue the Prophetic Mission across the globe with Yassine Jabri, Vice-Chairman of Mercy for Mankind commenting that they “are looking forward to collaborating even more with iERA in the near future insha’Allah. Together, hand in hand, we can insha’Allah convey the message of the one sent as a mercy for mankind – peace be upon him.”.
The conference commenced with Murtaza Chaudhary delivering an in-depth breakdown of iERA’s GORAP® dawah conversation framework. Ibrahim Shareef, a delegate who attended from Sweden remarked that “although I have studied the GORAP course many times before, I got to refine my skills even further and formulated new perspectives in my approach to having a dawah conversation.”
iERA CEO Hamza Tzortzis was tasked with delivering three critical sessions that are fundamental for all callers to Islam to understand and internalise. Throughout the day, he engaged the delegates with insightful discussions on ‘Firtrah and First Principles’ when giving dawah, the ‘Multilayered and Multilevelled Approach’ to discussing Islam, the Qur’an and Science and finally, ‘Why Allah Deserves Our Worship’.
The day concluded with Sheikh Amr Elsamny, the President of Mercy For Mankind, delivering a presentation on his seven-step method for both short and long-term dawah. Ibrahim from Sweden commented further that “this in itself taught me how to approach a non-Muslim in a different, yet equally effective way.”
The final part of the three-day conference focused on practical outreach activities around the iconic Eiffel Tower. Every delegate had an opportunity to practically implement what they had picked up over the two days prior. The Miséricorde pour l’Humanité campaign about Jesus AS was met by the public with amazement as they engaged people from all walks of life, both native Parisians and other tourists to the city of love.
Ibrahim, the delegate from Sweden reflected on his experience on the streets of Paris and in particular a conversation he had “with a Russian deist where we discussed the oneness of God and the right of God to be worshipped by his creation. He explained that the world is made up of random natural forces, which made him undermine the existence of an intelligent designer without denying the fact that there is a cause that created the universe. Our conversation was therefore structured around the existence of an intelligent designer due to the organisation throughout the universe. It’s amazing that he, later on, accepted the belief of a Creator, simply after pointing to the Eiffel Tower and explaining how a metallic architectural wonder can’t be made of random natural processes. We agreed on that point, and we moved on to discuss the obligation to worship our Creator, and I ended up inviting him to read the Qur’an and reflect upon the content.”
Ibrahim concluded that “it is thanks to Allah, first and foremost, and also to the contributions of the brothers and sisters at iERA and Mercy For Mankind that I today can call people to Islam in a confident way. May Allah increase you in good and bless you, the donors and contributors who made all of this possible to du’aat around the world like me.”
iERA looks forward to working closely with Mercy To Mankind both here in Europe and around the world to continue the Prophetic Mission – inviting mankind back to the worship of their maker.
