Giving #MercyToMankind In London

0

In the heart of London, in  Leicester Square, iERA unveiled an art installation about the Prophet of Mercy – Muhammad peace be upon him. #MercyToMankind

The idea was based on the fact that most people do not like being approached or having conversations. At iERA, we strive to develop strategies to convey the call to those people. It attracted people of all backgrounds and religions to read our poem and help themselves to ‘Words Of Mercy’ and ‘Cards Of Mercy’ which all contain lessons from the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him.

iERA Outreach Specialist Murtaza Chaudhary met with a friendly young man from Romania by the name of Dan. Dan had lived in the UK for around 4 years. He took one of the gift bags we were distributing on the day as well as other materials like our gift cards and dates. Something which is truly noteworthy of Dan was that he had already been studying the Seerah (history) of our beloved Prophet (peace be upon him) in his native Romanian language. Dan said he was intrigued and impressed by the prolific life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He appreciated the goodness of his character and recognised him as someone truly great. He believed in a higher power or creator being. However, he felt that coming to a religion wasn’t for him, and his philosophy was ‘each to their own’. Dan, therefore, was already on a path of discovering the message of Islam, for himself. “What was our role?” To be kind, listening, individuals. To build on that goodness that Dan had acquired himself, and show him that we are followers of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). People like Dan - that is people studying the Seerah, Hadith or the Qur’an and so on - sometimes revert to Islam after their studies. For some people, it is a short path of a few months but for others, it may take years. May Allah guide Dan to further understanding Islam, and one day embracing the religion, Ameen.

A young, lively and lovable Portuguese man called Ricardo met by iERA Outreach Specialist Murtaza. He was described as being the embodiment of youth, energy and passion. He had conviction that there was a creator being. In fact, Ricardo had a lot of contact with Muslims as he had a lot of Muslim friends, from all different places and cultures, such as Somalians. He felt they were good people. During the campaign, we were handing out something sumptuous for free: Medjool dates!. Ricardo had not eaten dates before, and so it was a first for him!. Murtaza further explained the foundations of Islam to Ricardo, and he left appreciating the dialogue. May Allah guide him to Islam, Ameen!.
