Islam and Black History Event Videos Online

The videos from our Islam and Black History events in October are now being released weekly online.

As part of the ‘Against Racism, Against Hatred’ campaign, the ‘Islam and Black History’ events were organised to coincide with ‘Black History Month’ in the UK, giving us an opportunity to educate the general public on the heritage of black African Muslims in Britain, and across the globe.

Tune in every week on the One Community blog to watch the next video.

Two events were arranged in Newcastle and Smethwick, with a host of speakers and organisations from various backgrounds, discussing the role of black people in Islamic history, sharing their experiences of being black and Muslim, and explaining Islam’s solution to racism.

The events were also supported by the following organisations: United Against Fascism (UAF), Anti-Youth Violence, Deen Riders, Newcastle University Islamic Society, Street, Show Racism the Red Card and the Islamic Diversity Centre.
